Haying and Changing a Tire

Haying went well this year, though not many bales resulted in all that hard work and long hours! I helped out a little with raking. One evening coming home from helping Jared I got a flat tire. He had no car to jump in and rush down to help me so I resorted to helping myself! And I did it! His lesson with the young women one night really paid off!

Moving Cows to Greener Pasture

In June we finally moved cows to greener pasture, it seemed like we were behind schedule all year with preg testing and weaning being later than usual!  The cows are always happy to move and the calves did well this year too, no unusual hiccups!  I am always recruited to drive the tractor ahead of the herd so it’s hard to get pictures! Emry got some cute pictures of Gibson, he’s sure getting old, but treks right along with us!!

Owen’s Grade 12 Graduation

Along with Emry’s grade nine grad Owen graduated grade 12! What an accomplishment for him, the ceremony was really nice, great things were said.

Arren had a nice family get together for all the Scheibner clan. It was so nice to see everyone, to visit and catch up. Pictures speak louder than words, so here’s an overload!

Grade Nine Grad

This past June Emry graduated grade nine! WHAT?  How is she old enough to be finishing grade nine! She found the perfect dress after much looking and trying on! We got her hair done and Auntie Arren did her makeup! She looked beautiful! The ceremony was awesome! Nice things were said about each graduate; but the nicest things were said about Emry! Mr. Jackson said she was the closest thing to a butterfly as a human could get! It was so sweet and very accurate! Emry sure is a spectacular girl; she is kind; caring and compassionate! She always wants to do what’s right and surrounds herself with good people and good things! 

Foxes

This spring there was a den of foxes near our yard! Every evening driving home from work I would see them and I would stop and wait for them to come out of their den! One in particular was so curious of our car and would get quite close! I loved seeing these beautiful animals, their big fluffy tails, their pointy ears and their slender snouts!

May Long Weekend Hike

I unfortunately had to work at the grocery store for the May long weekend, but Jared decided to take advantage of the weekend and take the kids hiking.  The weather wasn’t the greatest but they had fun none the less.  They attempted to do Junction Falls, but the kids were too afraid to cross the rushing rapids of the Sheep River (insert eye roll here!!!). But really, it was a little high and the river does run rather quickly there. So they did a different hike, much shorter than Junction Falls which was good, because of the constant drizzle they got rather wet.  I am so happy Jared takes time to do fun things with the kids.  It truly isn’t all about work, but a balance between the two.  They took some amazing pictures and I was happy they did, made me feel like I was there too!!

Spring 2019

A lot has happened this past spring. From a Cub Car Rally, to my 37th birthday, to calving, to a Galt Mueseum field trip...

Our Ward Primary held a Cub Car Rally for the 3 boys in Activity Days. It happened to be on my birthday. When I walked into the gym everyone broke into song singing me Happy Birthday!  It truly was special, I was really feeling loved.  The boys had fun racing their cars with the older kids in the ward who also made cars in years past.  Calum decided this year that he wanted to make the Batman symbol, getting the angles just right was a little difficult, but I think it turned out great.  And Armin made a traditional race car, very cool. 

Calving started shortly after, and then we were into it full force.  Such a busy time of year, but so rewarding and renewing after a long winter. 

Then Jared had a tough day at the office!!!!  He was able to take the boat out to do shoreline inspections and the water was like glass.  A beautiful warm spring day.

Armin’s Grade 1/2 class took a trip to Lethbridge for a field trip to the Galt Museum, it was a great day and lots of learning was had by all.  Though Armin did admit that parts were really boring.  A boy after my own heart, I too, find museums a little boring!!!
