What a neat experience for our prairie boys who have never been in a plane before. I am so thankful my dad is able and willing to do these neat excursions with our kids. The boys sure loved it, Armin still talks about being in the plane and wanting to be a pilot.

Plane Ride
For boys club this year Grandpa Glen took the boys on a plane ride. They flew in a four seater plane out of Lethbridge and over Champion and our farm! The boys loved every minute, Armin did get a little nervous when they banked the plane over Nobleford but soon realized he was safe and he settled right down! Grandpa asked him if he needed the barf bag and he nodded his head yes, but he didn't end up needing it at all! It sparked an interest in him that he'd like to be a pilot when he grows up!!
Flying over the farm they were able to see Jared who had come home to grab some things. Jared was out on the front lawn waving to them, the plane circled a couple of times and as they turned south one last time Jared gave a big wave and the pilot maneuvered the plane side to side as if waving back!! Jared said he was so happy he was home at the time and got to see them!!

Camping
Camping this year has been a great success!! We have gone out three times and we have sustained no injuries! Our camper is amazing and has proved to be handy when rain comes.
Our first camping trip took us to Little Bow for Canada Day long weekend. The weather was supposed to be crummy but turned out to be amazing! Jared had to work on the Friday and I had appointments in Vulcan, so the kids slept in and hung out at the campground in the morning and then by the time I was back from my first appointment Jared was on his way down, he took the afternoon off! While I headed to my second appointment, Jared and the kids hung out at the beach! They had a wonderful time!
The next day we went boating after Jared and Emry went home to help Dave and Char and their kids move the bulls in with the cows. The kids had a blast on the tubes, Armin was a little nervous at first but quickly overcame his nervousness!!
Sunday was Canada Day so we invited Dave and Char and Blake down to the park to have burgers with us after church. It was a nice day, perfect for celebrating our nations birthday!!! There were fireworks that night in Champion but we didn't go up since Calum is terrified of fireworks, but there were some set off down at the park for us to listen to! We couldn't see them but could definitely hear them. Thankfully Calum was fast asleep!!
Monday the boys had swimming lessons in Champion, Jared had the day off in lieu of Canada Day so he took them. When they got back we had a yummy brunch of pancakes and sausage before packing up and heading into Champion for our second round of camping.
We decided we would try camping in Champion while the kids had swimming lessons! It was wonderful and I would definitely do it again! I woke up the boys in time for their lessons and then went back to sleep for a bit, it was heavenly!!! Arren and her family camped right next to us, and I loved having her so close 24/7! We shared meals, the kids rode their bikes all around town, they went swimming and to a town wide water football game!! It was lots of fun just relaxing! We were able to have dinner one night with Grandpa Glen and smores and games with Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Mark. The kids love seeing their grandparents. It was great!!
Our third camping trip was only with Emry, Jared and I with the Young Women!! It was a very successful camp and all the girls had a blast!! We were able to have all five girls there for part of the time. Leah had to work during the day but was able to come have supper with us both nights, and be part of the firesides brother Jackson and the Bishop put on. I love the girls we are in charge of, they all bring a special spirit to our group! And I love working with Heather and Melanie too. Each of the girls had jobs to do, preparing meals, and cleaning up after. Preparing a morning devotional and presenting it. They all pitched in and did a great job. I am so glad Jared got to spend the time with us as our Priesthood holder. I love camping with him!!!

Eating the tinfoil dinners we made. They were so yummy, wrapping the chicken and veggies in cabbage and then tinfoil worked so well. Nothing burned. |
We even made nachos late one night over the fire, so yummy!! |
