Much to Be Thankful For

This Thanksgiving we able to spend it with Jared's family and mine!!! Sunday we got together with the Puzey side (minus Dave and Char's family)! Myrna made the most delicious turkey, so moist and juicy!!! It was decided that in the absence of a meat thermometer you are to use a candy thermometer and cook your Turkey to the hard crack stage!! 😉 the kids had so much fun together playing and exploring!! We visited and laughed, ate too much and just enjoyed each other's company!!!

Monday we headed over to my moms where we were again treated to a very yummy Turkey dinner!! Both my sisters and their families were there and we had some good laughs as we visited! My older sister Avi and I went in search of our girls who were exploring the farm, we had to crawl under a barbed wire fence, which I got caught on!! Once I was untangled I couldn't get my balance and I fell straight to the ground!! Giving up at any attempt to get up I just laid there while Avi laughed hysterically at me (I'm thinking its a Scheibner trait to laugh at people falling, all us girls seem to be notorious at laughing at others misfortune!!!) anyway, in between Avi's bouts of laughter she tried to extract her phone to take a picture, luckily my cousins husband was there to help me up before Avi got the picture!!!! All the kids got along so good, my cousin Terry brought her 6 month old grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed snuggling him!!!!

I had been asked to bring dessert and I decided to make a pumpkin cheesecake! To ensure there was enough for everyone I doubled the ingredients to make two cheesecake's. Well, doubling it made three cheesecakes...luckily, we are still enjoying it today!!!!!

I am so thankful for my family!!! The one I was born into and the one I chose when Jared and I got married!!! I am thankful for Jared, for his love and support!! He is such a wonderful father. He plays with our kids, reads to them, talks with them and just loves being around them!!! The other night after we had put the boys to bed they kept calling to be tucked in.  Instead of going in and being frustrated with them, Jared went in and pretended he was a robot. Every move he made and every time he talked he acted just like a robot would, Armin found it hilarious!!!! I have learned a lot about life from this wonderful man. I'm also thankful for the gospel in my life, I know I am not as diligent as I should be with saying my prayers and reading my scriptures, but I do feel the comfort from my Heavenly Father and know I'm on the right path. I'm thankful for my children, they are full of much love, innocence and curiosity. They so badly wear me out, so much at times I don't know how I'll go on, but they also rejuvenate me and bring out a deep love that is totally unexplainable.  I am thankful for the messy and disorganized home we live in, it means we are living life and making memories!!! One day it will be totally organized and clean and quiet and lonely.  I'm grateful for the noise and I hope my children feel like they are living life to the fullest and making memories.

Thanksgiving gives me the chance to count my blessings and be grateful for all I have!!!

  1. Did you try the cheesecake from Mel's kitchen cafe? ? If not that was seriously the best pumpkin cheesecake I have ever had. Maybe you made it in smaller pans and that's how you got three. Sounds like a nice time both days. Too bad we didn't get to see a picture from your sister. ;)
