Two of a Kind

Last Sunday we went over to Buck and Arren's for a barbeque!  It was a lot of fun and as usual the kids had so much fun together!  We hardly saw Emry and Lily and even Gil and Calum played good together!  I feel sorry for Gilbert sometimes because Calum is so much younger than him but he desperately wants to play with his big cousin!  It was a good day, the weather was beautiful so we spent some time outside, Arren even got a different wheelchair that is easier to manoeuvre on the grass and gravel at the farm!  My mom and dad were also there, and Emry loved being able to show them that she can finally ride a two wheeler without training wheels!  We have been practicing for the past three summers and finally this summer she tried all by herself one day and realized she could do it, now to get her off of it!  By the end of the evening I put Armin on the grass to play, he absolutely loves the grass (one of the very few kids at that age I think!!), Calum went over to sit beside him and my mom captured some very sweet pictures.  The last one she got looked like Calum was going to give Armin a nice brotherly hug, but the next picture would have shown him giving Armin a shove, only mom didn't get this picture because she had to go and rescue Armin!

Just when we think Calum will surprise us, a surge of testosterone flows through his body and he becomes a big ape :)  He is actually very good with Armin now and realizes he is not a toy but his baby brother.  Dad says that Armin will be the voice of reason when it comes to their antics, and I whole heartedly agree!

Dad was holding Armin after we ate and there was watermelon still on the table for anyone who wanted to continue snacking.  Dad gave one of his rinds to Armin to see what he would do with it, well he loved it, so dad gave him his own piece of watermelon.  If we thought he loved the rind, the entire piece was so much better!  His little face lit up with pure delight!
